An evening of ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing will take place at Wicksteed Park Pavilion this Saturday (January 31) from 7.30pm until 11.30pm.
The event has been organised by Charles Kruger, who organised a similar dance evening in July last year.
He said: “Although ‘strictly come dancing’ has become popular, there has always been a large number of keen dancers living locally.
“Many local dance schools attend the dance - this event has people flocking from as far afield as Cambridge, Leicester and Luton to attend the event.
“A previous event put on by myself last July was most successful with about 100 people in attendance.
“I am looking to grow and vary the events we hold - to include hopefully two ballroom evenings a year, two themed tea dances a year and the ultimate aim of an evening with some of the strictly stars!”
Tickets cost £7 on the door. There is a fully licensed bar.
The dress code for the event is smart/casual or evening wear.
